Chennai: Beyond its already announced commitments to India in terms of electric and internal combustion vehicles, Tamil Nadu government is in talks with Hyundai for potential investment and collaborations in “newer areas”. These include research and development as well as hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles and also charging infrastructure, said a top government source about the meeting between Hyundai Motor executive chairman Euisun Chung and Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin on Tuesday.
Tweeting about the meeting, the chief minister said that the two parties discussed “ongoing and upcoming” investments in the state and that the dialogue encompassed investments “especially in the EV space, potential collaborations in R&D and advanced technologies”.
