Hyderabad’s suburban train network, the Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS), has now extended services up to Umdanagar, the railway station closest to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, while increasing the total distance under operation from the present 48 km to 90 km, the South Central Railway (SCR) said Wednesday.
The Railways feels the extension of MMTS services would strengthen the rail connectivity between different parts of Hyderabad. The new train services between Secunderabad and Medchal and between Falaknuma and Umdanagar take the overall MMTS services to 106.
