Sanjiv Mehta chairman of Hindustan Unilever is likely to be nominated as one of the non executive directors of Air India’s reconstituted board, it is reliably learnt. Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran may also get on the board after some mandatory government security clearances it is learnt.
Chandrasekaran has already sent an official mail welcoming Air India employees into the Tata group. Air India’s current board has seven members including the chairman and managing director. Of the seven members, four are operational members that are directors of finance, HR, commercial and operational.
