Soon, the 41 km roads redeveloped along the lines of European standards under the streetscaping projects will be maintained and closely monitored by a high-tech artificial intelligence-modelled system to report in case of any potholes, damaged roads, missing median, cattle invasion, accident or any water/sewer leakages on these revamped stretches, said Public Works Department (PWD) officials.
“This is a first of its kind project being explored by any road agency in Delhi. Now, we have deployed guards and inspection vehicles to take rounds but if a road is broken or a light is not working, repairs can take up to two days.
