Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India plans to introduce flex-fuel models. The company will continue to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from ICE (internal combustion engine) models, while developing models compatible with carbon neutral fuels such as gasoline-ethanol blends.
Honda’s flex fuel models are available in Brazil. The bikes run on 100 per cent ethanol (E100). In India the plan is to first introduce (E20 — 20 per cent ethanol) models beginning in 2023 and E100 models in 2025. Honda will also introduce electric motorcycles.
It will introduce more than 10 electric motorcycle models by 2025 globally, with an aim to reach annual sales of 1 million units within the next five years and 3.5 million units (approximately 15 per cent of total sales) as of 2030.
