Chennai: Hitachi Energy has established its largest global technology and innovation centre in Chennai. Chief minister M K Stalin inaugurated the facility here on Thursday.
Spread over three lakh sqft at Porur, the facility houses more than 2,500 energy transition technologists. The centre, owned by Hitachi Energy Technology Services Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Energy Ltd., Switzerland, brings engineering, R&D capabilities, sales and after sales services under one roof. It is equipped to execute over 1,000 projects a year across 46 countries.
This is Hitachi Energy’s second facility in Tamil Nadu in a span of eight months, after a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and power quality factory was opened on the outskirts of the city in February.
