Chennai: Hitachi Energy, a global technology major, will capitalise on the growing data centre segment in the country. Currently, the company has a significant presence in data centres with one out of every three data centres running through its technology.
Venu Nuguri, managing director and CEO, India and South Asia region, Hitachi Energy said, data centre is one of their focus high growth segments.
Noting that 15%-20% of the company’s global portfolio is in data centres, he said, one in every three data centres in India runs through their technology. “The installed data centre capacity in India is in the range of 100 GW, which is likely to go up to 900 GW,” he said. Hitachi Energy, on Thursday, inaugurated a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and power quality factory near Chennai.
