HYDERABAD: Telangana on Wednesday secured temporary relief from the high court over Rs 7,000 crore power dues it owes to Andhra Pradesh. The court directed the Centre not to take any coercive action against the state in this regard.
A bench of justices P Naveen Rao and J Srinivas Rao gave this interim directive while hearing pleas by Telangana energy secretary and power distribution companies, which challenged the order of the Union power secretary asking Telangana discoms to clear Rs 7,000 crore arrears to AP power companies.
The bench issued notices to the Centre, AP and its discoms and sought their counters by October 18.
