The Tata-SIA joint venture airline Vistara today had to cancel nearly 50 flights, with more than 150 flights across its network experiencing significant delays. Additionally, the airline has disclosed plans to scale back its flight operations and utilize wide-body aircraft on domestic routes to address the backlog of affected passengers.
Why Vistara Flights Are Getting Cancelled and Delayed?
The crisis plaguing Vistara Airlines has reached a critical juncture due to the absence of pilots reportedly protesting against the terms of a new contract following the airline’s decision to merge with Air India. As per reports, Vistara pilots have collectively sought sick leave, a move triggered by the introduction of a revised salary structure by the airline, in anticipation of its merger with Air India.
