The authorities are using helicopters to rescue trapped tourists in the Dharchula area of Pithoragarh district. The road connection to the Dharchula has remained blocked after the recent disaster.
On Friday, 23 people were rescued from Darma Valley in Dharchula. Apart from them, a pregnant woman was brought from Dharchula to Pithoragarh. The tourists expressed their gratitude to the government and the District Magistrate for being rescued with the help of helicopters of the Air Force.
Meanwhile the administration continued the rescue operation in the high Himalayan areas for the second day on Friday. In which a total of 23 people including 21 tourists and two local women were brought to Dharchula in four sorties by Air Force helicopter from Darma Valley.
