New Delhi: Heads have begun to roll in SpiceJet after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) served show-cause notice to four top officials of the airline following a spate of safety lapses.
The notices were issued to three senior pilots who are chief of flight safety, operations and training; and the low cost carrier’s (LCC) accountable executive.
“The chief of flight safety has resigned. The other two senior pilots heading operation and training departments have been removed from their posts,” a SpiceJet spokesperson said on Saturday.
DGCA officials say they are closely watching the action airlines and airport operators take on the show-cause notices which have been issued on them from earlier this month. “Passenger safety is of paramount importance and there will be no compromise with that. Corrective action based on the notices being issued has to be taken without any delay. We are watching that very closely,” said a source.
