The Railways ministry has recognised the 50-km new broad gauge line project from Hazira to Gothan as a “special railway project” a status that will ease the land acquisition, which has been delayed by farmers opposing the acquisition.
“Being developed as a part of the prestigious Dedicated Freight Corridor, the meaning of this project getting the status of a special project is that to complete a national infrastructure it will be counted as a project of public interest and the process of land acquisition will become easier,” Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh stated in an official release Wednesday.
