NEW DELHI: IndiGo has sent its reply to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on the clarifications sought by the market regulator following a litany of complaints from the airline’s co-founder and promoter Rakesh Gangwal. “We are sending the reply to Sebi and will respond to the corporate affairs ministry by the end of next week,” said IndiGo CEO Ronojoy Dutta (Rono) said.
The airline’s board met on Friday and will do so on Saturday also. “We are discussing a whole range of issues (referring to the issues raised by Rahul Bhatia-Gangwal spat). The regulatory requirement of appointing an independent woman director will be met very soon. That requires amending the articles of association and should be done by Saturday,” he said. The airline will expand its board.
Insisting that the promoters’ spat was on issues not connected with running of the airline, he said the EY report on report on governance has been sent to Sebi and that there are no plans to make the same public.
