The Gujarat High Court reserved the order on the anticipatory bail pleas of the four directors of Ajay Engi-Infrastructure Private Ltd (AEIPL), which was awarded the tender and contract for the Hatkeshwar bridge that began to break within four years of its inauguration.
AEIPL chairman Ramesh Patel, and his sons Kalpesh and Chirag and Rasikbhai Patel moved the high court after the Ahmedabad sessions court rejected their anticipatory bail pleas on an FIR filed at the Khokhra police station under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections of criminal breach of trust (406, 409), cheating (420), and criminal conspiracy (120-B).
