MUMBAI: Mumbai airport is now run entirely on power generated by green, renewable sources of energy, Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) said on Monday.
“The landmark 100% utilisation of renewable sources of energy happened in August. The airport procures 95% of its electricity needs from renewable energy sources such as hydro and wind energy while around 5% comes from its onsite solar generation,” MIAL said, adding that it has prepared a roadmap to achieve “net zero carbon emission” by 2029.
