Secunderabad: Is it going to be ‘green murder’ at the expense of two elevated skyways in Secunderabad Cantonment as part of Strategic Road Development Plan? Green activists and environmentalists say in affirmative.
Thanks to the proposed skyway between Parade Ground and Hakimpet Airforce Station on Rajiv Rahadari, almost 60% of age-old trees are likely to be chopped, said an environmentalist. “Gymkhana Ground will be the first victim of this mad race to build skyways. Hundreds of trees along the roadside will be axed as part of road-widening,” he said.
