In compliance with its manifesto, the State Government has started construction of roads worth about Rs 214 crore in the State in the last one year. Remaining works will also be started soon after receiving funds from MORTH. Maintenance of approved routes under BOT is being undertaken as per contract. Also, on the basis of priority, action is being taken to reconstruct narrow, submerged and very old bridges on state roads and MDR.
Decision has been taken to construct a total of 2552 bridges and culverts in the state. Apart from this, a five-year plan has been prepared for the construction of bridges in the state. In this scheme 400 bridges will be constructed at a cost of Rs 2,000 crores. Every month regular video conferencing is being done to maintain the routes and maintenance work is being done from the budget available separately.
