New Delhi: The government is probing the tendering process of power transmission utilities of states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana for alleged violation of the Centre’s procurement norms restricting imports from countries that share land borders with India.
A senior official said the Centre was examining concerns raised by domestic equipment manufacturers to ensure promotion of indigenous manufacturing. Domestic equipment companies have alleged that the tenders invited in September-October 2020 do not have clauses restricting Chinese companies.
