The government is planning to introduce the Cape Town Convention Bill in the monsoon session of Parliament, according to people aware of the matter, a move that will make it easier for aircraft leasing companies to seize the planes of airlines that miss rental payments.
The proposed Bill will give primacy to the Cape Town Convention in case of conflict with any other local law, primarily the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
