In an extraordinary turn of events, a fully loaded goods train embarked on a driverless journey from Kathua railway station in Jammu and Kashmir, covering a distance of nearly 80 kilometers before being brought to a halt in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur. The incident has triggered a thorough investigation by railway authorities to unravel the mystery behind the train’s autonomous movement.
The goods train, consisting of 53 bogies, was stationed at Kathua railway station, awaiting clearance to proceed towards Punjab. However, at approximately 7:05 am, to the astonishment of onlookers and railway staff, the train began to roll downhill towards Punjab, attaining speeds ranging from 60 to 70 kilometers per hour.
