A goods train rammed into a stationary goods train at the Singhpur station on the Bilaspur-Katni section of the South East Central Railway (SECR) in Madhya Pradesh Wednesday morning, killing one loco pilot and injuring five railway staff.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. The railways officials said no passenger was injured in the incident and added that over one thousand passengers who got stranded were evacuated in buses. The accident led to several trains being cancelled, diverted or terminated before reaching their destinations.
