Delhi assembly speaker Ram Niwas Goel told the assembly’s standing committee on public facilities on Friday that officials were allegedly trying to stop the Delhi government’s electricity subsidy scheme.
Power minister Atishi claimed that chief secretary Naresh Kumar and power secretary Shurbir Singh were conspiring with the lieutenant governor (LG) to halt the government’s free electricity scheme, which provides up to 200 units of electricity to consumers for free each month.
“An important file from the LG’s office on power subsidy was supposed to be given to the cabinet within 15 days (starting March 10), but the file has yet to reach the cabinet despite a 14-day delay.
