On May 2, 2023, Go Airlines (India) Ltd, owned by the Wadia group, filed for voluntary corporate insolvency resolution. Citing financial constraints due to US engine maker Pratt & Whitney (P&W) supplying defective engines, the company has suspended its operations. The company had been operating the airline since November 2005 under the brand name GoFirst (earlier branded as GoAir). On May 10, 2023 National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) granted them protection, suspended the Go Airlines board, and appointed an interim resolution professional (IRP) to operate the airlines as a “going concern’.
