GMR has arranged a ₹4,000-crore loan for the construction of a greenfield international airport at Vizag, with an infrastructure finance company taking the lead in fund mobilisation for the home-grown group, sources familiar with the matter told ET.
The new airport in the seaside commercial city that has a major port and a steel unit is part of GMR’s efforts to boost its aviation facilities business after a reorganisation that resulted in the separation of its airports and non-airports revenue streams into two distinct listed companies two years ago.
