The Glasgow Climate Pact has been reached after much struggle. Has it done enough to stabilise the climate in the near term and in a manner that addresses the climate emergency? The host UK may like to pat themselves on the back for some of its successes but it appears that it missed a large number of opportunities.
Paris Rule Book: Tidying up
First the positives. Two areas where the Glasgow Conference completed its work with reasonable degree of efficiency are the finalisation of the structure of carbon market mechanisms, and the completion of the residual transparency arrangements under the Paris Agreement.
