Hyderabad: Seven workers fell unconscious after inhaling toxic fumes at Aurobindo Pharma Unit III in Bachupally on Thursday. They were rushed to a private hospital, where except two the remaining were discharged. The two workers have been kept in ICU for a 24-hour observation.
Around 11am, employees working near the chemical reactors were suddenly exposed to a gas leak. The workers immediately tried to move out of the premises, however, by then they had already inhaled the toxic fumes causing them to lose consciousness, police sources said.
Security staff members rushed the unconscious workers — Prem Kumar, Gowrinath, Prasad Raju, Vimala, Yasish Ali and Srinivas — to SLG Hospital at Nizampet.
