The revival of three fertilizer plants – Gorakhpur (UP) and Talcher (Odisha), both of Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd (FCIL) and Barauni (Bihar) of Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Ltd (HFCL) – is on the top the Modi government’s agenda.
The Gorakhpur plant will be taken over by Kribhco as the government has agreed to provide them 2.4 mmscmd gas and guaranteed buy¬back of urea produced from the unit.
For the Talcher plant, the government has formed a committee for quickly tying up with coal gasification technology provider in China.
