Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot met with RK Singh, Minister of State (Power and New & Renewable Energy) via video conferencing on Thursday to discuss installation of charging infrastructure in Delhi-NCR as part of the recently launched electric vehicle policy.
The Delhi electric vehicle policy – which was launched on August 7 this year by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal — aims at having 5 lakh (25 per cent of all new vehicle registrations) electric vehicles in Delhi by 2024. Along with providing category based incentives, it also aims to develop an effective network of charging stations and infrastructure throughout the city.
