Director General Prisons Mohommad Akil on Saturday said that a fuel and CNG station is being set up in a phased manner at district jail, Kurukshetra. After seeing the success of the pilot project, filling stations would be set up in 11 more jails of Haryana.
DG Prisons was here to inspect the progress of the filling station being set up. It is expected to start operations in a month. It will be open to the public.
Mohammad Akil said, “The fuel station has been named ‘Jail Filling Station’. In the day time, it will be operated by jail inmates. In the late hours, if needed, the jail employees will operate the fuel station. It is being set up by the Indian Oil Corporation.
