India’s oil consumption in June rose 5.6% from the pre-Covid level, and 18% from the low base of last year, as per official data. Compared to June 2019, sales of petrol and diesel rose 12.5% and 3% respectively, reflecting a robust recovery in demand for transportation fuels as mobility expanded in a growing economy.
