NEW DELHI: An in-house institute of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has emerged as a hub for fire safety and disaster management training among the oil, petrochem and airport industry players in the Asia-Pacific region.
Institute of Petroleum Safety, Health and Environment Management (IPSHEM), originally set up by the ONGC for training its personnel, is now doing a brisk business by training personnel not only from domestic oil majors like Cairn India, Indian Oil Corporation, GAIL, Hindustan Petroleum and Oil India Ltd, but international players like Russia’s Rosneft and France’s Total.
Airport operators GMR and Airports Authority of India are the latest entities to enrol their personnel for training.
