New Delhi: IndiGo, GoAir, Vistara and Air India that fly the Airbus A320neo aircraft will have to reduce cargo load on these planes as they, like the grounded Boeing 737 Max planes, could nosedive under certain conditions due to ‘excessive pitch attitude. Mint probes the issue.
Have regulators taken any measures?
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on 31 July asked airlines flying the A320neo family limit the centre of gravity envelope of the aircraft by limiting cargo intake. As per EASA, analysis and laboratory testing of the behaviour of the flight control laws of the A320neo had identified a situation where excess load at the back of the plane could cause its nose to tilt upwards, triggering an automatic response that would push the nose down, eventually leading it to crash.
