CHENNAI: Union minister of state for railways Darshana Jardosh said that the ministry was focussing on export of technology and coaches in addition to making railways self-reliant in manufacture of coaches.
Flagging off the 15th rake of mainline coaches for export to Sri Lanka Railways Jardosh said that “In addition to making India self-reliant, we want to export our technology to other countries as well. As a part of it, now coaches are being exported to Sri Lanka.”
She also said that the ministry was aiming to make 400 Vande Bharat coaches and all steps are being taken towards it.
The minister inspected the production of coaches at ICF production facilities, including the prestigious Vande Bharat Express coaches which are at various stages of production.
