BENGALURU: Nooraine Fazal was at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Monday evening to catch a flight to Paris.
“My car almost got stuck in one spot. It was full of chaos and the entire area was flooded. I was scared of missing my flight but I somehow made it,” said Nooraine, the founding managing trustee & CEO of Inventure Academy.
“Being a Bengalurean, I’m disappointed. It’s a newly built world-class facility but the rain exposed the lack of planning. In October-November, Bengaluru receives heavy rain but our airport was not prepared for it,” she said.
Mark Selvaraj, Chennaibased urban planner, who is working on stormwater drains, said: “Drainage system should be designed based on the average frequency of the intensity of hourly rainfall data.
