In a big development, the Ayodhya International Airport, officially known as the Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport, is gearing up to welcome domestic flights in November 2023. As per Navbharat Times report, airport’s director, Vinod Kumar, shared that the first phase of construction is on track to conclude by October.
As of now, the terminal building stands at 25 per cent completion, and efforts are underway to expedite its construction. A notable milestone in the airport’s progress is the successful construction of a 2,200-meter-long runway. Subsequently, the second phase of development will extend this runway to 3,125 meters, with the third phase further lengthening it to 3,750 meters. It is anticipated that international flights will be introduced following the completion of this third phase.
