The Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, launched flight services from the Veer Surendra Sai Airport (VSSA) at Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar and Raipur on Wednesday.
The flights are operating under the Ude Deshka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme of the Central Government.
Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, Odisha Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das, Brajrajnagar MLA Kishore Mohanty and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Usha Padhee were present on the occasion.
While 72 air passengers travelled from Bhubaneswar to Jharsuguda, 54 went from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar on Day 1.
As per the schedule, Flight AI 9719 will leave Jharsuguda at 10.35 am and reach the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar at 11:35 am. Similarly, Flight AI 9727 will depart from Bhubaneswar at 9:05 am and reach Jharsuguda at 10:10 am.
