Flight operations in and out of the Mumbai airport continued to be affected Wednesday as a cascading effect of yesterday’s disruptions and also as the main runway remained unoperational.
A total of 75 flights have been cancelled till 10 pm today, said a spokesperson at the airport. Those included 40 arrivals till 10:10 pm and 35 departures till 7:05 pm, said the spokesperson.
Yesterday, about 200 flights were cancelled and close to 60 arriving flights were diverted to other airports.
The main runway was shut after a SpiceJet flight coming from Jaipur overshot the runway while landing.
Mumbai, the second busiest airport in India after Delhi, has two intersecting runways.
