Power distribution company BYPL that supplies power in the Walled City that came in the line of the fire in the wake of the tragedy, tried to wriggle out of the situation by claiming that the fire in a factory in Anaj Mandi was triggered by some “internal system” of the building.
A senior discom official said that a team of BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) rushed to the spot after getting information of fire and immediately discontinued the electricity supply.
“It appears the fire started from the second and third floor due to internal system of the building. The electricity meters of the building were placed on the ground floor and were found to be intact,” he said.
