Members of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Sidhupur) blocked railway tracks at Ludhiana Railway Station for 45 minutes on Saturday night after they were pulled up by Railway Protection Force (RPF) authorities for allegedly occupying seats without proper tickets in air-conditioned coaches on the Jammu Tawi -Tata Nagar Express.
The train had stopped at Ludhiana Railway Station at 11.15 pm and remained stalled till around 12 am due to the protest.
After receiving complaints from other passengers regarding seats being occupied illegally, RPF personnel started deboarding the farmers from the train in Ludhiana, triggering the protest.
