Farmers from across the district, under the banner of seven agitating farmer organisations, staged a sit-in at the District Administrative Complex, demanding adequate power supply for planting paddy from June 1, on Friday. Besides, they have several demands that they want the government to fulfill.
Kanwalpreet Singh Pannu, state convener of the Kisan Sangharsh Committee, Punjab, and Harjinder Singh Tanda, state president of the Azad Kisan Sangharsh Committee, Punjab, were among those who addressed the gathering.
