Exicom, an EV charger and lithium-ion battery player, has entered into an agreement with Hero Electric to supply Battery Management Systems (BMS) for the latter’s electric two-wheelers in India. BMS is responsible for monitoring the battery pack performance and safety parameters. Exicom said its BMS would allow Hero Electric to comply with the AIS-156 safety norms applicable from December 2022 and Mar 2023. Hero Electric intends to purchase 5 Lakh units of Exicom BMS per annum, given the rapid increase in demand for EVs in the country.
