New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a showcause notice to E-5 Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, asking the Gurgaon-based construction company to respond why it should not be blacklisted and its contract not be terminated after its managing director was arrested last month for the alleged murder of an ‘authority engineer’ in Jaipur. The NHAI appoints authority engineers for supervising and monitoring works, which are fully funded by the government.
Once blacklisted, a firm cannot participate in any bidding process for a specific period. Sources said NHAI issued the notice last week and has set a deadline for the company to send its response.
