The district administration has failed to remove encroachments along the Tral-Awantipora road near Mukdam Mohalla in Pulwama district, locals complained.
Sources in the revenue department said that the administration has several times in the past issued notices to the “encroachers” asking them to remove the “illegal structures” voluntarily “but nothing has been achieved by these notices so far”.
On 29 March 2019, a fresh notice was issued by the additional deputy commissioner Tral asking people operating “illegal structures” at Mukdam Mohalla to remove such structures voluntarily within a week’s time or else punitive action will be taken against them, sources said.
The private encroachments along the Tral-Awantipora road through Dardsara have resulted in choking of the road leading to the main town Tral.
