BENGALURU: In what could be a major boost to e-mobility, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd (Bescom) plans to set up public electric vehicle-charging stations every 500m in the city by 2023-24.
“At present, there is a charging station in every 4-5km radius. We are now planning to provide the facility every 500m so there will not be any range anxiety among EV owners,” said Sreenath K, deputy GM of Bescom.
Bescom has set up 334 charging stations in 148 locations across the city. Thirty of them are direct current (DC) points, while the remaining are alternating current (AC).
