The State Government has taken the initiative to develop a 1000 megawatt ultra mega floating solar project in the first phase on Indira Sagar dam. The establishment of the project will benefit the State in many ways, in which the reservoir will be used as an alternative to the land.
Its installation will lead to more generation of cheaper electricity and reduction in evaporation will promote water conservation. The water quality will increase. This way the project will be unique in its own way.
Notably, the Indira Sagar reservoir of Madhya Pradesh has the distinction of being the largest water body in Asia. The minimum area of the water body in this reservoir is 26,710 hectares, which can accommodate 13,000 MW solar project. In view of this, this project will be developed here.
