A proposal for the construction of the Draman-Jot-Chamba-Killar (Pangi) national highway has been sent to the Central Government, said Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Hans Raj while addressing mediapersons here yesterday.
Hans Raj said that the proposal included ‘multipurpose tunnels’ beneath the Jot and Chehni passes.
He hoped that if the proposal is finalized, it would provide an all-weather access to the tribal Pangi valley from Chamba district and the outer world.
The national highway would also be useful from the strategic point of view, he added.
