Chennai: The Madras high court has warned the chairperson of Tangedco that it would initiate contempt action against him if the corporation fails to disconnect power connections of 118 illegal brick kilns in Coimbatore district within 24 hours.
A special bench of Justice N Sathish Kumar and Justice D Bharatha Chakravarthy issued the ultimatum on Thursday while hearing a batch of pleas seeking to seal the illegal brick kilns.
The bench has directed the corporation to file a compliance report in February 6.
