Despite the government’s liquidity infusion programme, the pending dues of power distribution companies (discoms) remain on a steady upward march. According to PRAAPTI (Payment Ratification And Analysis in Power procurement for bringing Transparency in Invoicing of generators) portal, discoms owed power generators (gencos) about Rs 1.30 lakh crore as of end of November 2020, compared to outstanding of about Rs 1 lakh crore at January end 2020.
