The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) caught 4,558 cases of power theft in the month of September and has imposed a fine of Rs. 16.41 crore.
Besides, FIRs have been registered against the guilty consumers for not paying the fine on time.
The managing director of the DHBVN, PC Meena, said under the campaign being run against power thieves, special attention was paid to houses whose connections were disconnected as there was a possibility of them being involved in power theft.
