NEW DELHI: In wake of the spreading coronavirus epidemic, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has temporarily tweaked the pre-flight breath analyser (BA) test norm for aviation personnel required to undergo the same.
Till March 13, pilots, cabin crew and other personnel will first be checked for fever and cough before being asked to undergo the mandatory BA test. If unwell, they will be sent back home and not asked to blow into the BA test machine to minimise chances of infecting other healthy crew members who do so subsequently.

The DGCA had earlier for a fortnight last month exempted crew members operating flights from Kerala from pre-flight BA test for this reason.
